Our Bees and Honey

We are frequently blessed with swarms of bees. Of course, we would rather that the bees stay home and make honey for us, but working with swarms is fun, and it gives us the opportunity to use techniques that apply only to swarms.

On Easter Sunday, after church, we had a swarm of bees on a low branch of a pine tree.   Since Joyce enjoys shaking bee swarms to introduce them to their new hive, she took care of this swarm.

On May 10, 2009, Joyce is ready to shake this large swarm of bees into a new hive.
